Inaugural listing from PR News spotlights most-innovative public relations firms in U.S.

Butin PR appears on PR News’ Top 100 list alongside some of America’s traditional public relations powerhouses.

Butin PR has been named to the inaugural Agency Elite Top 100 listing of the nation’s most innovative and strategic public relations firms. The brand new listing, announced in mid-August, was compiled by PR News, whose publications and programs serve the communications, public relations and marketing communities.

Now in its 16th year, Butin PR has operations in Charlotte and on St. Simons Island, Georgia. The agency specializes in media relations, influencer programs, and digital strategies for a mix of global, national and regional clients.

Butin historically has served companies primarily representing the food-and-beverage and travel-and-tourism industries; the agency recently expanded into the technology sector.

Inclusion in PR News’ Top 100 is the latest in a series of accolades for Butin, which in 2019 was the recipient of a PRSA Bronze Anvil Award; a Queen City PR Crown Award; and two PR News Platinum PR Awards. The agency also won a 2020 PR Daily Digital Marketing and Social Media Award in June of this year.

Butin PR appears on PR News’ Top 100 list alongside some of America’s traditional public relations powerhouses, such as FleishmanHillard, Havas PR, APCO Worldwide, MWWPR, Porter Novelli, Ruder Finn, Coyne PR, Jackson Spalding, ARPR, Highwire, and Y&R PR.

“We’re known as the small shop that delivers big-agency work, so this recognition certainly validates our formula for success. We’re very proud to be named as one of those at the forefront of our industry, especially considering our relative size and the caliber of the competition,” said Mary Butin, the firm’s founder and CEO.

“We really owe much of this honor to our client partners, who continually hold us to the highest standards,” she added. “On top of that, we simply love what we do.”

To compile its Top 100 list, PR News scored entries against more than a dozen criteria, including innovation, expertise, growth, and forward-thinking strategies. The judges also sought to understand how these agencies pivoted their businesses and assisted their clients during the coronavirus pandemic.

The entire Agency Elite Top 100 can be accessed through a new PR News portal. Visitors to the portal also can filter their search of the agencies listed there by industry specialization and core PR capabilities.
