The 2020 People of the Year award marks Marolt’s seventh year with Butin PR, rising from account executive to her current role as vice president.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (PRWEB) January 22, 2021
Kelly Marolt, vice president of Charlotte, N.C based Butin PR, has taken PR News’ top honor for outstanding leadership and groundbreaking work in the public relations world.
One of just 40 professionals receiving the People of the Year recognition, Marolt is in good company among a highly-talented group of her peers. Contributing factors to Marolt’s placement on PR News’ elite list were her strategic campaign work, crisis communications counsel and relentless commitment to client service through a deeply challenging 2020.
“This honor really speaks to the ingenuity, creativity, and grit of the entire Butin PR team,” Marolt says. “We’re a small group that churns out big work on a daily basis, and we’re putting Charlotte on the map in the communications industry thanks to our many national award wins.”
Butin PR, previously known as Butin Integrated Communications, has earned a legion of accolades for outstanding food, travel, and lifestyle communications campaigns throughout its 16 years in business. Marolt has shepherded the team through a number of high-profile initiatives and continues to lead the agency’s charge towards industry excellence.
The 2020 People of the Year award marks Marolt’s seventh year with Butin PR, rising from account executive to her current role as vice president. With more than 10 years of PR experience under her belt, Marolt now specializes in developing communications programs that bridge the gap between building awareness at scale and generating bottom-line business impact. Marolt has successfully built and directed several high-impact campaigns, for which she’s claimed nine national public relations awards in just the past two years.
“As a 35-year veteran in the PR and communications industry, I can honestly say that I have never worked with a more capable, driven, intelligent and natural-born communications professional than Kelly,” said Mary Butin, founder and CEO of Butin PR. “In all her years with Butin, 2020 was Kelly’s year and she deserves to be recognized for not only how she has helped our business succeed, but also for how she has helped our clients’ businesses succeed in these most tenuous and volatile of times.”
When she’s not leading campaigns for Butin PR, Marolt spends her spare time finding ways for the agency to give back. She established Butin PR’s Annual Day of Service, where employees pack shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, and has donated her time locally to several nonprofit organizations.
