buyTickets.com Has Tickets to Ozzfest Meets Knotfest in September
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) May 20, 2016 -- Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and Slipknot lead singer Corey Taylor gathered at the Hollywood Palladium on May 12 to announce a joint venture. They are planning a two-day concert called Ozzfest Meets Knotfest that is scheduled to take place in San Bernardino, California on September 24 and 25.
Members of some of the 33 bands who will perform shared the stage with them for the announcement. After making the announcement about the concert, former Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde and his band performed Black Sabbath’s hit “Paranoid.”
The concert will be held at the San Manuel Amphitheater where Ozzfest and other heavy metal festivals have been held over the past several decades. Black Sabbath and Slipknot will headline the event. Other prominent acts will include Disturbed, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax.
This year will be the 20th anniversary of Ozzfest. The last time the festival was held in the United States was in 2010. It was held in Japan in 2013 and 2015. Slipknot’s Knotfest heavy metal festival began in 2012 and was inspired by Ozzfest.
Bands will perform on three stages at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest. One of the stages will be named in honor of Lemmy Kilmister, the late lead singer of Motorhead who inspired many of the performers on the lineup.
Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has been battling lymphoma but encouraged the band to finish their most recent album, 13. Ozzy Osbourne remarked at the announcement on the fact that he and his bandmates, as well as many other prominent musicians, are getting older and some are dying.
Black Sabbath planned to retire after they finished their current tour, which is known as
“The End.” Ozzfest Meets Knotfest is the group’s last planned performance in California.
Once Black Sabbath finishes touring, Ozzy Osbourne intends to continue performing as a solo artist. His wife, Sharon, will continue to manage his career, even though they recently announced that they are getting divorced. They both said they want Ozzy to retire in the near future while he is still successful.
