C. C. Young Announces Details of The 2015 Spirit Is Ageless Art & Writing Contest Celebration
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) April 22, 2015 -- C. C. Young today announced winners of the 16th Annual Spirit is Ageless Art and Writing Contest. The Celebration will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at The Point, Center for Arts and Education on the campus of C. C. Young. A reception will commence at 10:15 a.m. with the program and awards celebration following at 11:30 a.m. Artists submitted one hundred and sixty (160) contest entries on April 8th and 9th which have been judged in seventeen (17) different categories.
The awards celebration will feature special guest speaker, Katherine Wagner, Chief Executive Officer of the Business Council for the Arts. As CEO of BCA, Katherine advocates for a strong bond between the for-profit business community and the non-profit arts and cultural sector throughout North Texas. Katherine’s discussion, titled “It’s Never too Late to Create: Finding Your Place on the Cultural Map” highlights the value and importance of art at every age.
The annual art contest, open to the Dallas/Fort Worth community aged 55 or better, began in 1999. The 2015 winners range in age from 55 to 97 and submitted art and writing in categories that included group projects, mixed media, photography, painting, poetry, wood sculpture, jewelry, and fiber arts with 160 entries submitted.
