Calgary Entrepreneur Brings Size-Inclusive Fashion to Crowdfunding Competition
Aymie Rondeau is one of 20 female entrepreneurs competing in the ATB Financial Build Her Business campaign. For the month of February, she is crowdfunding to raise $5000 to launch Curvy Collective, a plus-sized boutique in Calgary focused on bringing high-quality and unique size-inclusive fashion to Canadian women.
CALGARY, Alberta, Feb. 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Curvy Collective is an up-and-coming size-inclusive fashion boutique headquartered in Calgary, Canada. They are focused on increasing the availability of high-quality plus-sized fashion to Canadian women, and are proud to announce that they are one of 20 female-led businesses currently competing in the ATB Financial Build Her Business crowdfunding campaign throughout the month of February.
Throughout the month of February, Curvy Collective is offering a variety of rewards in exchange for support from the community. Anyone from across North America can purchase rewards, which start at just $10.00 include size-inclusive clothing from sizes small to 4X, personal styling sessions, gift certificates and more.
The crowdfunding competition is run as a "Booster-style" campaign, which means that competitors have each set a personal financial goal. If this goal is not met or exceeded, then no money or rewards are exchanged. The top four businesses who meet or exceed their crowdfunding goal move on to a final round of judging, where they are eligible to win additional funding from ATB Financial, coaching from Manjit Minhas of Dragon's Den fame and more.
Curvy Collective has set a goal of crowdfunding $5000 to be used towards building an online shopping platform and sourcing size-inclusive brands from around the world.
Says Founder and CEO Aymie Rondeau, "This is about more than just crowdfunding. This is about creating a size-inclusive, body positive community, where fashion is equally available to all women. It's no secret that the plus-size fashion community is significantly underestimated and underserved. We are very proud of our story, and being the only female-led business in the Build Her Business competition with a size-inclusive message. We are excited to have the support of the plus-size community and fellow entrepreneurs from across Alberta, who are supporting our campaign and helping to make our business plan a reality."
