Calling All Lake Arrowhead Veterans to American Legion Post 360
Lake Arrowhead,CA (PRWEB) March 07, 2014 -- The American Legion Post 360 serves the veterans in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding communities. They are currently reaching out to all of the local veterans to invite them to the monthly dinner meetings. The next dinner meeting will take place on March 18th at Bill’s Villager in Blue Jay. Last month’s dinner meeting was at the Antler’s Grill where the veterans enjoyed a fabulous meal with guest speaker, Neale Perkins, the founder and chairman of Ontario—based Safariland, Inc.
“We have seen more and more discussion throughout the country about PTSD, more than ever before and we want our local veterans here in our community to know that we are here for them. The American Legion Post 360 can help those returning home get adjusted. We can offer support and guidance and even financial support in some cases. If anything, we want our local veterans to know they have a place to go and be with and talk with other veterans like themselves,” said Frank Smedley, Service Officer and a local RE/MAX Real Estate Broker Associate.
The American Legion Post 360 not only serves the needs of the local veterans, but they are also dedicated to the local students in the area. They volunteer at the Blue Jay Thrift Store and raised $12,000 last year for scholarships. They also sent 5 students to Boys/Girls State where they learn about government by practical application, 4 students to the Youth Environmental Conference and also sponsored the local oratorical contest.
