Calling All Travelers: Have Family Fun and Win With Realfamilytrips.com
New Jersey, United States (PRWEB) July 31, 2014 -- RealFamilyTrips.com, a family to family travel planning and resource site, is set to host a summer contest for families who love to travel. Running through September, this “Summer Scavenger Hunt Contest” promises to provide families with fun activities they can all share in, from the youngest children to teens and adults. By following simple challenge guidelines, the family creates a Pinterest board dedicated to the contest, which they then share with Real Family Trips for a chance to have a great meal or hotel night (up to a fixed amount) covered by the site.
“This promises to be the kind of contest that families enter not just because of the prize offered, but because they’ll enjoy everything that goes into entering,” says Naomi Greenblatt, founder of Real Family Trips. “We’ve created a game the family can play together, wherever they are travelling this summer. The fun along the way is its own reward, with the prize going to the winning family as a nice bonus.”
Part of the beauty of this contest is that any family can participate no matter where they may be going this summer, or for how long. Going on an elegant European tour for a month? Great. Running down to the shore for a long weekend? Just as good. Families simply print out (or view on a device) an activity sheet while on their trip, and write about their trip when they get home. All this gets shared and no matter how big or small the trip, they get to play.
The activity sheet consists of prompts for vacation photos. Some of them are obvious and merely suggest a certain type of spot for a family photo, for instance in the place where you’re staying. Other require a little clever thinking or research - a great way to get children excited and thinking creatively. Can you find an old enough building, or find out what the local delicacy is? Parents and children can put their heads together to learn as they go, solve the clues and take the photos. The interactivity is all part of what Real Family Trips does: help families connect and create memories.
Real Family Trips is a travel site for families that strives to offer users the very best inspiration, advice and help in planning their family vacations and local trips. The site facilitates family friendly vacation planning with an emphasis on children and teens, from inception through the planning process.
First the site helps families find destinations, often inspiring them to choose places they may otherwise have never thought of. Afterwards, or if the family already has a destination in mind, they can find assistance with finding the best there is to do there. A combination of real family testimonial and expert knowledge, in the form of both ready-made itineraries and travel trips, provides real and practical advice as to what is best for certain ages and types of families travelling.
In order to participate in the contest, families will also submit a brief itinerary for their trip including where they went, what they did, what they liked and how old the children are. In doing so they become part of the bank of resources on the site, and after their itinerary is professionally written up by Real Family Trips staff members, it will become part of the ever expanding knowledge base on the site. The site utilizes crowdsourcing to arrive at what makes for the best family vacations.
The contest runs through the remainder of the summer, with the final deadline for submissions on September 7, 2014. All submissions are made via a private pinterest board shared with the site. Only an original itinerary is required to enter. Additional points are earned for multiple itineraries and photo challenges. The family that comes out with the most points will get either a meal from their trip, or a single night of their accommodations (up to a fixed amount) paid for by Real Family Trips (certain rules and restrictions apply).
