CERRITOS, Calif., June 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Co Huynh, a co-founder of Calnetix Technologies and the Business Unit Leader for the company's electric turbo division, will present a paper entitled "Design and Control of a High-Speed Motor and Generator Unit for Electric Turbocharger Application" on June 21 at the IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo (ITEC) in Novi, Michigan.
The paper, co-authored by Calnetix's Manager of Power Electronics Liping Zheng, introduces the E-turbo system and describes its various key components, including the variable speed drive along with its hardware design considerations and control methodologies.
Huynh will address the key challenges faced in designing the motor generator unit for E-turbo applications and will conclude by presenting the experimental test results of the E-turbo controller.
Huynh has over 30 years of experience in designing and developing advanced high-performance motors, generators and electromagnetic devices for automotive, industrial and aerospace applications. He has been granted multiple patents in the area of electric machines and electromagnetic devices. Huynh has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, and is a registered professional engineer (E-13669) in the state of California.
