Canadian Podcaster Jeff Krushell Interviews BFE President Dr. Erik Peper as Part of Series on the use of Biofeedback in Sport and Peak Performance
In an ongoing series called "The Brain Game", Jeff Krushell talks with some of the top experts in the world to establish a clear definition of "the brain", brain performance, brain training and the influence new technology and training techniques are having on human performance.
LONDON, Sept. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Podcaster and performance consultant, Jeff Krushell, launches a series of podcasts highlighting methods and technologies that focus on the mental aspects of training. Asked why he chose to focus on the brain, Jeff replied, "We are at a biological ceiling when it comes to the physical development of our athletes. Faster, more powerful, stronger, we know these very well. Skill acquisition, talent, technical and tactical work, we have a great understanding of these as well. We believe the greatest potential for pushing human performance forward lies in the areas of technology and our understanding and ability to train the Brain."
Airing Wednesday will be his interview with Dr. Erik Peper, author of the just released book "Tech Stress: How Technology is Hijacking Our Lives, Strategies for Coping, and Pragmatic Ergonomics" with Dr. Richard Harvey and Nancy Faass. Dr. Peper has a long history using biofeedback techniques with athletes and other peak performers. According to Dr. Peper, "Using equipment that monitors physiological signals such as heart rate, respiration rate, skin conductance, muscle activity and brainwaves, athletes can see the effect emotions and thoughts have on their body. When they can see how their body reacts to stress, they can learn to control their reaction, thereby minimizing the effect of stress on performance. The same concepts apply when we work at computers and experience zoom fatigue. Biofeedback makes the invisible visible and provides the feedback to optimize health and behavior."
As part of this series, Jeff will interview several influential people from the biofeedback field including: Lawrence Klein, VP and Founder of Thought Technology, Ltd.; Dr. Inna Khazan who combines the use of biofeedback and mindfulness; and Dr. Leah Lagos who's focus is on HRV training for athletes and peak performers.
