The leading EB-5 regional center operator, CanAm Enterprises, successfully redeployed EB-5 investor funds in Q2 2019. CanAm’s diversified EB-5 redeployment platform offers various investment options to CanAm’s EB-5 investors, all of whom have individual redeployment timeframes, risk tolerances, and expected returns.

“CanAm Enterprises has always put its investors first, and the same philosophy applies to our approach to redeployment. CanAm will always provide redeployment options that comply with USCIS’ requirements and preserve the redeployed capital as much as possible,” commented Mr. Tom Rosenfeld.

CanAm Enterprises (“CanAm”) is pleased to announce that it has successfully redeployed EB-5 capital from several separate CanAm limited partnerships whose investors were required to redeploy their funds into another investment vehicle in order to satisfy USCIS’ “at-risk requirement” until they are permitted to file their I-829 Petitions. Each EB-5 investor was able to vote for a redeployment option that suited his or her respective redeployment timeframe and liquidity needs. The majority of the CanAm investors redeploying had relatively short redeployment timeframes of two years or less and opted to reinvest into municipal bonds aimed to support infrastructure spending.

As a leading regional center, CanAm has developed an investor-focused EB-5 redeployment platform that prioritizes investors’ specific immigration and financial needs and objectives. CanAm recognizes that each investor has different goals in terms of his or her redeployment timeframe, expected return, and risk tolerance – and ultimately, it should be the investor’s decision to decide how to redeploy his or her EB-5 capital.

Therefore, CanAm’s diversified EB-5 redeployment platform offers redeployment into:

  • Municipal bonds intended for infrastructure-related spending
  • Mezzanine loans to qualifying real estate developers
  • Longer-term preferred equity investments in real estate projects

Why does CanAm offer various redeployment options?
CanAm’s philosophy throughout its nearly 30 years of operations has always remained the same: to ensure that investors complete their immigration goals and preserve their capital investments. CanAm’s position over the past 15+ years of sponsoring EB-5 projects reflects our commitment to maintain reasonable EB-5 loan terms and predictable maturity dates without locking investors into longer commitments and/or multi-year extensions that carry greater risk and tend to favor developers.

Therefore, CanAm has set up a Registered Investment Advisor, CanAm Capital Management, to recommend the best redeployment option that fits the parameters that an investor chooses. This same “investor-first” mindset has guided CanAm’s approach to developing its redeployment strategy, which is not limited to a single redeployment option to all of its investors, but rather, provides different investment options intended to suit the needs of its specific investors depending on the duration of their respective redeployment periods, liquidity needs, desired capital returns, and risk tolerance.

“CanAm Enterprises has always put its investors first, and the same philosophy applies to our approach to redeployment. CanAm will always provide redeployment options that comply with USCIS’ requirements and preserve the redeployed capital as much as possible,” commented Tom Rosenfeld, President & CEO of CanAm Enterprises.
