Nonprofits who earn a Candid Seal of Transparency are now also eligible to enable Apple Pay to accept donations
NEW YORK, Oct. 24, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- It just got easier for nonprofits to accept donations on Giving Tuesday–and beyond. Last year, Giving Tuesday raised $2.7 billion, and 2022 could bring in even more. In time for this year's Giving Tuesday on November 29, nonprofits that have earned a Candid Seal of Transparency will also become eligible to enable and accept donations with Apple Pay, providing donors with an easy, secure and private way to give to nonprofits they love.
Earning a Candid Seal of Transparency is free and gives funders insight into a nonprofit organization, helping donors make educated grant-giving decisions. The Candid Seal of Transparency also grants nonprofit access to additional benefits such as appearing on 200+ charitable sites. To earn a Candid Seal of Transparency, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization can log on Candid's GuideStar to share up-to-date required information. Once a nonprofit receives their Candid Seal of Transparency, they can reach out to their donation platform to start the set-up process.
Candid CEO Ann Mei Chang said, "In this time of unprecedented need, nonprofits are stretching to do work at a scale that matches demand. People want reliable information about nonprofits they care about and easier ways to give to them. Offering Apple Pay as a convenient, secure payment method makes it easier for donors to support nonprofits doing great work."
Apple Pay also leverages the security features built into all Apple devices, so every transaction is designed to be secure. By integrating Apple Pay into payment platforms, nonprofits make it easy for donors to set up recurring donations, pledges, in memory of, and gift donations.
