SYDNEY, Jan. 19, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CAP-XX Limited (LSE:CPX), the leading manufacturer of ultra-thin, board-mounted prismatic supercapacitors and cylindrical supercapacitors, announces that it has launched full-scale production and shipments of the thin prismatic Murata supercaps following the successful installation of the former Murata production lines at CAP-XX's new headquarters and manufacturing facility in Sydney, Australia.
CAP-XX acquired Murata's supercapacitor production lines in late 2019, shipped them from Japan to Australia in stages throughout 2020, and began initial production in Q4 2020 shipping to key customers. The company has relocated from its Lane Cove facility to a much larger facility in Seven Hills, Sydney to accommodate Murata's state-of-the-art production lines which have greatly increased CAP-XX's production capacity.
"We are pleased to launch our newly-commissioned facility, after overcoming the international business challenges that 2020 presented," said Anthony Kongats, CAP-XX CEO. "Our new facility features world class production automation to manufacture the most cost competitive, highest quality prismatic supercapacitors available. These CAP-XX branded products have the same specifications and DMF, DMT and DMH part numbers that Murata previously offered under CAP-XX license."
The newly-commissioned production lines are producing supercapacitors ranging from 35 millifarad to 1 farad (35 mF to 1F) and up to 5.5 Volts. Special features include:
- Thin form factor down to 0.4 mm thickness (Z height)
- Long life - High operating temperature -40 to 85°C
- Low ESR down to 40 m Ohms
- Hot-Bar solderable for low-cost automated PCB assembly
