Capture the Flag Event One of the Highlights at ICMCP National Conference
ATLANTA (PRWEB) August 14, 2018 -- The International Consortium of Minority Cybersecurity Professionals (ICMCP) Third Annual National Conference, “The Diversity Game: Changing the Cybersecurity Workforce Landscape” has added another amazing event to the conference agenda. The cyber security capture the flag (CTF) competition is used as a learning tool for anyone that is interested in cyber security. It can help sharpen skills and compliment other forms of training.
The ICMCP CTF, to be held at the Westin Buckhead Hotel in Atlanta, GA on Tuesday, September 18 during the National Conference, will provide a venue for any attendee or sponsor to compete in a classic CTF. Grab the flags, grab points, climb up the leaderboard!
Participant Criteria and Rules
1. Be kind to one another, do not share information or solutions or brute-force/DoS our server
2. You can sign-up as teams to the contest, scores are based on flags captured
3. If needed, a tie-breaking challenge will be issued, winners will be those that solved it in the shortest time
4. Do not try to break the CTF backend
5. We reserve the right to disqualify participants who are not playing in good faith
6. There will be staff available to aid participants during CTF. If at first you don’t succeed, try again then ask staff first help
7. Sponsors are welcome to participate
8. A team member must be on stage to receive the award in order to win
9. Must be present on September 18, 2018

Challenges will be announced at the conference. The environment to host this CTF is laced with various surprises to keep the game interesting. The networks that the Blue Teams must defend will be a mix of Windows and Linux, with the typical Internet services (web, DNS, mail, etc) and a mix of obscure systems and services.
