LOS ANGELES, Calif., and STUTTGART, Germany, Aug. 13, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, RepairSmith, a new startup in the car repair and maintenance market, announced the launch of its service in the greater Los Angeles and San Francisco markets. RepairSmith provides truly convenient car repair and maintenance service for car owners, including transparent online pricing and scheduling, and choice of service location: at home, at work, or at the shop. Headquartered in Los Angeles, RepairSmith is backed by a major investment commitment from Daimler AG, one of the world's most successful car companies.
"Car owners are frustrated by the inconvenience and lack of transparency of the traditional experience," said RepairSmith CEO Joel Milne. "We are delivering more than a service; we are delivering an entirely new way to repair and maintain your car by providing a trusted online pricing and booking platform while meeting the needs of car owners directly where they need it."
Using RepairSmith's at-home delivery service, RS Delivery, a certified RepairSmith mechanic arrives in a company vehicle, equipped with the tools and parts to complete the vast majority of all work a vehicle may need. If more sophisticated tools are required to get the job done, RepairSmith will take the customer's vehicle to a RepairSmith certified shop to complete the repair and return it when the job is done. RS Delivery has proven very popular with beta customers in today's on-demand economy.
If a car owner prefers to drive their own vehicle in for service, RepairSmith's RS Drop Off service allows the customer to drop their vehicle off at a certified RepairSmith shop. All repairs are backed by a 12-month/12,000 mile warranty and the highest level of professional standards.
Additionally, RepairSmith is eschewing the trend of the gig economy. "Let's face it: the gig economy hasn't helped workers or customers when it comes to providing skilled services," added Milne. "RepairSmith mechanics will have full-time hours, be equipped with company vehicles and tools, and trained to deliver a new kind of experience for car owners."
RepairSmith is available for all vehicle types; it is not limited to vehicles manufactured by Daimler AG. The company will expand its service offerings to other major metropolitan areas throughout 2019 and 2020.
"Daimler is committed to delivering innovative mobility services and leading the technology transformation of our industry," said Andreas Joerg, Director of Remanufacturing and Value Parts & Service Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars. "The team at RepairSmith is taking a long-view of the changing customer expectations and technology requirements in the car repair industry and designing solutions to improve the car ownership experience."
