Carey Danis & Lowe Comments on West Virginia Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuits
St. Louis, Missouri (PRWEB) April 22, 2015 -- The consolidated transvaginal mesh lawsuits in West Virginia are making headway, comments the St. Louis law firm, Carey Danis & Lowe. The federal court hearing the 7 transvaginal mesh multidistrict litigations (MDLs) recently filed a new pretrial order (PTO). PTO #171 concerns all of the transvaginal mesh MDLs except Neomedic.
The court document outlines the June 2, 2015 status conference schedule. Legal representatives for plaintiffs and defendants will meet for an hour in the following order:
10:00 am – C.R. Bard MDL 2187
11:00 am – Boston Scientific MDL 2326
1:30 pm – Ethicon MDL 2327
2:30 pm – Coloplast MDL 2387
3:00 pm – Cook MDL 2440
Carey Danis & Lowe, a national law firm that represents women who claim injury from transvaginal mesh, believes that the status conference schedule will allow all parties involved in the litigation to easily determine the status of each MDL. Taking stock of progress will be helpful in comparing the progress of one MDL to another.
The status conference schedule is perhaps influenced by the federal judge managing the transvaginal mesh MDLs, say Carey Danis & Lowe attorneys.
U.S. District Judge Joseph R. Goodwin, who is managing the 7 MDLs, was quoted in a February 2015 Reuters report as saying that he was “going to kick it into high gear”, and would like to see the same of defendants and plaintiffs.²
And accurately recording the status of each MDL, in order to determine which legal proceedings need to be expedited, will allow for the court, defendants, and plaintiffs to kick it into high gear.
