Together, the companies will connect care from the point of injury through recovery – combining FirstCare's proven onsite model with Carisk's broader clinical capabilities.
The acquisition expands Carisk's clinical model further upstream, creating an opportunity to engage an injured worker at the worksite and, when additional care is needed, provide a connected path into specialty and complex care.
At the center is a commitment to preserve what makes FirstCare's model effective. By placing qualified clinicians directly at the worksite, FirstCare evaluates and treats injuries when and where they occur. FirstCare has historically resolved roughly 30% of workplace injuries without the incident developing into a workers' compensation claim.
That philosophy will be supported and scaled under Carisk's ownership.
When an injury can be appropriately evaluated and treated onsite, FirstCare will continue to provide that care. When an injury requires a higher level of intervention, Carisk can provide a direct connection to specialty care, complex care management, behavioral health, and other clinical services that may be needed to support recovery.
