American Singer-Songwriter Carolee Rainey has released a new single "King and Queen," which she dedicates to the love story between Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip. The romantic ballad, a mix of Country, Adult Contemporary and Americana, is now streaming on all major music platforms, and is featured in a music video on YouTube.
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 16, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "King and Queen" is a pure, raw, and innocent love song that I originally wrote as a wedding gift for dear friends of mine who had lost their love. I rediscovered the song and knew that I wanted to record it for my new album. Amidst the chaos of the world, genuine love stories will always inspire," Rainey said.
When Rainey approached producers David Veslocki and Craig Wilson of East Nashville, TN-studio Forty-One Fifteen, it was important to her to capture the same rawness and simplicity she felt while writing the song in a forest.
"We decided to record it in the living room of their Victorian studio and it brought me right back to the day I wrote it," she said.
Carolee Rainey is a lifelong musician and multimedia artist who had originally worked in A&R for a major label, before becoming a professional painter. Her focus then shifted profoundly back toward music, finding inspiration at a live concert by songwriter Rickie Lee Jones.
"I was so inspired by the raw emotion in her voice ," Rainey says, "I was standing there in total awe, and just felt a deep calling to return to music. All I wanted was to write songs that made me feel what I felt during Rickie Lee's performance. I went home from that concert, and got out my acoustic guitar. I started writing and never stopped."
"King and Queen" is available on all major streaming sites including Apple Music and Spotify; the track has been released by Sapphire Records, and distributed by the Orchard. A music video for the song is also available on YouTube, available here: https://youtu.be/4qa9vdKD5-8
