This award recognizes projects for their outstanding masonry design, workmanship, and creativity with the use of brick, block, or stone. The firms involved in this project include Swaback, TLCP Structural Inc., True North Builders, Sutter Masonry, Quality Block, and Anasazi Stone Company.
The craftsmanship and attention to detail that went into designing and building Casa Lucero is evident. Casa Lucero was designed to complement the existing character of Estrella and bring a freshness to the community with creative site features, components, and elements. Its visual character takes cues from some of the materials used on the community's nearby Star Tower including the rusted steel and natural stone boulders. In addition, timber, painted metal, wrought iron, board form concrete, and slump block help tie Casa Lucero to the Lucero village and to the greater Estrella community.
