FAIRFIELD, N.J., May 9, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Celebrate New Jersey in pictures by entering Unique Photo and New Jersey Monthly Magazine's 2019 Cover Search Contest. Unique Photo, New Jersey's largest camera and video superstore, has partnered with New Jersey Monthly magazine for the second annual photo contest that will capture the essence of the Garden State.
Unique Photo and New Jersey Monthly will award valuable prizes to 14 Cover Search winners. The grand prize winning photo will appear on the cover of the December 2019 issue of the magazine.
The sponsors invite amateur, professional and student photographers to capture their favorite images of New Jersey— from our sunny shores to verdant mountains, from our sparkling urban skylines to our expanse of farmlands, and everything in between.
Photographers, who must be New Jersey residents, can submit one photo per month in the competition, which runs through October 1, 2019, in any of five content categories — Architectural, Landscape/Nature, Lifestyle, Down the Shore, and Special (abstract, conceptual, long exposure, etc.) — or in the Student category (grades 7 to 12). Black-and-white and color photos shot in a vertical format and taken after January 1, 2018 are accepted. Photos cannot be digitally altered, except in the "Special" category.
With each submission's $15 entry fee, photographers will also support a good cause: a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs in New Jersey.
All eligible photos will be displayed in the magazine's contest gallery. At the end of the six-month submission period, Unique Photo and New Jersey Monthly will choose 60 finalists, with an expert panel of judges making the final selection of a grand-prize winner; an overall runner-up; six category winners and six category runners-up. The Grand Prize winning photo will grace the December 2019 cover of New Jersey Monthly. Winners of each category will be awarded special prizes from Nikon, Canon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic, and more.
Prizes include:
- Grand Prize: Placement of photo on front cover of the December 2019 issue of New Jersey Monthly or a front cover of an alternate issue; a photographic equipment package, including a Nikon Z7 with 24-70mm lens, Peak Design messenger bag and Manfrotto tripod (total retail value: $4,650).
- Runner-Up: Canon EOS R with 24-105 lens (retail value: $2,199).
- Category Winners: Cameras from Fuji, Sony, and Panasonic, ranging in retail price from $497 to $1,299.
- Student Winners: DJI Spark Quadcopter (retail value: $359) and GoPro Hero 7 (retail value: $299.)
- Category Runners-Up (6): $100 gift cards from Unique Photo.
