Celebrate the Most Delicious Event of the Year at the Avon Heritage Duck Tape® Festival's 'Sweet 16' this Father's Day Weekend

AVON, Ohio, May 17, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The 16th annual Avon Heritage Duck Tape® Festival on Father's Day weekend – Thursday, June 13 through Saturday, June 15, 2019 – is sure to be both sticky and sweet, featuring a "Sweet 16" candy theme that will bring joy to all ages. That's right – don't miss all of the sugar-inspired Duck Tape® surprises that await!

Embark on a wonder-filled journey through Veterans Memorial Park in Avon, Ohio, a land where families can indulge in delectable fair foods and snacks; marvel at delicious eye-candy sculptures made of Duck Tape®; and watch as amazingly creative floats weave their way along the parade route to the spectacular fairgrounds. Attendees can make sweet – but sticky – creations at the Duck Tape® Maker Tent featuring arts and crafts, dance along with live entertainment, including Friday night's show: Bad Company, former lead singer Brian Howe, and much more.

Each day, spectators will be amazed by the larger-than-life Duck Tape® sculptures, created by students from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning (DAAP), featured on the Festival grounds for all to see. Plus, the first 500 visitors each day will receive a free roll of Duck Tape® – allowing attendees to take that "kid in a candy store" feeling home!

Thursday, June 13, "Family Night"

• NEW this year – thanks to our Family Night sponsor Meijer – families will receive complimentary wristbands that allow them to enjoy unlimited fun on the topsy-turvy amusement park rides.
• Stop by the CRUISIN' Car Show presented by Frank LaManna, which kicks off at 5 p.m. (Front Lot).
• Musical entertainment includes: Morrison and McCarthy at 5 p.m. (Beer Tent) followed by Bronx Country at 8:30 p.m. (Main Stage).

Friday, June 14

• At 5 p.m., listen to music by DJ Flash Gordon (Beer Tent).
• Starting at 8 p.m., grab your bestie and dance the night away at a party like you've never seen – or heard – before. New this year, Cedar Point will bring a touch of Cedar Point Nights, their annual beach glow party event, to the Festival grounds creating an unforgettable silent disco experience! Guests can literally dance the night away amongst glow décor and music of their choice with the help of wireless headphones.
• Catch one of Rock N' Roll's legendary bands, Bad Company, former lead singer Brian Howe, at 8:30 p.m. (Main Stage). Rock out to hits such as "Holy Water," "If You Needed Somebody," "No Smoke Without a Fire," and "How About That," while enjoying this sweet show. Admission is free.

Saturday, June 15

• The annual Duck Tape® parade starts at 10 a.m., showcasing unique Duck Tape® floats created by community groups and local businesses.
• At 2 p.m., "The Rock Academy" from Ron Zehel Guitar Center of Avon Lake will showcase local, up-and-coming talent (Main Stage).
• Beginning at 7:30 p.m., enjoy music by Mr. Breeze, sponsored by Meijer (Main Stage).
• Don't miss the spectacular fireworks show by Pyrotecnico, sponsored by Marc's, starting at dusk.

Admission is free for this three-day event, which annually draws more than 50,000 duct tape enthusiasts from around the world. Free transportation is also available around the Festival grounds.

The Avon Heritage Duck Tape® Festival takes place at Veterans Memorial Park, 3701 Veterans Memorial Parkway in Avon, Ohio:
