FREDERICK, Md., August 2, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the launch of this year's S.H.E. Week, a week of both virtual and in-person events celebrating the Strength, Heart and Equality of women in Frederick County.
Held August 22-27, this year's event celebrates women thriving and moving forward despite the pandemic. Multiple studies have shown that Covid-19 has disproportionately affected women across the globe. Women's experiences at home, their health, work and economic well-being have all been affected in many ways. As we find ourselves slowly moving forward into recovery, it is more important than ever to build an environment where we incite positive change, connection and sharing of wisdom.
"If we've learned nothing anything else from 16 months of exile, separation and disconnection, the one overriding observation should be to celebrate every little victory, warmly embrace our treasured friends and colleagues, and savor every single moment of this crazy existence," said Rick Weldon, Chamber president and CEO. "S.H.E. Week 2021 is our chance to not just celebrate the power and influence of women, it's also our best chance to acknowledge resilience, patience and creativity in all of its many forms and examples. I'm so proud of our Chamber team, our Board of Directors and our member organizations for making S.H.E. Week the region's most successful recognition of women, and our signature annual Chamber event."
"S.H.E. Week 2021 was designed by women for women to not only give opportunities, but also to empower participants with both the community and insights they need to thrive into the future. Our incredible team of volunteers have designed a stellar week of events that not only includes thought leadership panels, but also skill development training, networking opportunities, a S.H.E. Pitch competition and our first ever SHERO Award recognition," said Jennifer Gerlock, vice president of marketing & communications.
