Celebration of New, Permanent Supportive Housing for Homeless in Downtown San Jose
A celebration to commemorate the commencement of construction, the event is hosted by Affirmed Housing and PATH. Joined by San Jose Councilman Raul Peralez, Director of Housing Jacky Morales-Ferrand, Charmaine Atherton of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Mary Kaiser of CCRC and more, the event will highlight the obstacles overcome and the hopes the new community will be replicable.
SAN JOSE, Calif., July 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Affirmed Housing and partner PATH Ventures host celebratory event to commemorate construction progress. One of the first of its kind in San Jose, Villas on the Park will offer 84 units of permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless in the downtown core of the City of San Jose. Located at 290 N. 2nd Street, a half block north of the historic St. James Park, Villas on the Park will include 83 LIHTC studios for formerly homeless individuals and an on-site resident manager's unit. This new model of housing will offer numerous services to assist the homeless residents and encourage them to, again, contribute to society.
The sleek 6 story building has been designed by Dahlin Group and is being built by Brown Construction. Financial support includes the County of Santa Clara, the City of San Jose, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, and CCRC. Total development cost of 36 Million dollars, Villas on the Park will prove to be a turning point in the lives of the many people who will utilize the beds and services provided.
