POMPANO, BEACH, Fla. (PRWEB) December 27, 2018 -- “2018 Top Ten Celebrity Real Estate News”
“Robert Redford's Napa Estate”
Robert Redford’s Napa Valley wine-country retreat where Robert and his artist wife, Sibylle Szaggars, enjoy hobbies and hosting family and friends is for sale. Perched on a knoll on 10 ultra-private acres surrounded by woods and vegetation with walking paths, the Redfords have enjoyed the home for 14 years and have decided to move back to the Bay Area near family. The compound includes the main house, a 90-square-foot artist studio/guest house and two large garages. The 5,200-square-foot main house is modest by film mogul standards with three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a large great room, den, library-office, sunny white kitchen and formal dining room. It is priced at $7.5 million.
“Derek Jeter's Family Castle”
A castle-like compound that has been in Derek Jeter's family for years has been for sale since mid 2018 at $14.75 million. Located about 50 miles from Yankee Stadium, Tiedemann Castle was built in the early 1900s on Greenwood Lake on the border of New York and New Jersey by a New York doctor, Rudolph Gudewill. After Gudewill died, Derek's grandparents, John and Julia Tiedemann, bought the castle. Derek spent many of his childhood summers at the home and eventually purchased it in 1992. Part owner of the Florida Marlins trying to reinvigorate the last-place and low attendance team, Jeter has less time to go home anymore.
“Gwen Stefani Still Asking $29 Million”
Having ended her 13-year marriage to hard-rock musician Gavin Rossdale in 2016, three-time Grammy Award winner and former 'The Voice' judge, Gwen Stefani, hoped to get a fast sale at $35 million on her contemporary Beverly Hills compound with seven bedrooms, faux-painted walls, tennis court, pool and spa. Still on the market, Gwen reduced the asking price in early 2018 to $29 million.
“Brady Bunch House Sells In Bidding War”
The Los Angeles split-level house that was the TV home for the exterior scenes of 'The Brady Bunch,' was up for sale in 2018 at $1.885 million, but quickly generated into a bidding war between HGTV and former 'NSYNC performer Lance Williams - eventually won by HGTV for $3.5 million. With only two bedrooms and three baths, the 1959 home with 2,477 square feet is a bit small for the Brady clan of two parents, six kids and their nanny. HGTV will feature the home's renovation to its 1970's glory in a new show 'A Very Brady Renovation' that will air in 2019.
“Henry Ford's Hamptons Mansion”
An estate built for Henry Ford II in 1960 came on the market in 2018 as one of the most expensive homes ever listed in the United States at $175 million. Henry was the grandson of the famous automaker and was responsible for reviving the failing company in the late 1950s growing it into far-reaching international markets. The estate includes the main mansion with 12 bedrooms and 12 baths, a 48-foot living room, an outdoor kitchen, 20-foot pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, spa, greenhouse, and a carriage house. Ford's home, now knows as “Fordune” is still priced at $175 million.
“Cher's First Beverly Hills Mansion”
Cher's first serious home after her divorce from Sonny Bono, which she helped design in Beverly Hills in 1980, is on the market at $68 million. Beyond her unique contralto vocals and risque stage costumes, Cher’s less heralded but equal talent is her exquisite taste in creating elegant luxury condos and homes with plush rusticity. Cher eventually sold the property to comedian-actor Eddie Murphy in the late 1980s. He held on to it until 1994 when new owners took over and turned the property into a 14-acre equestrian estate. In addition to the 20,000-square-foot main house, the property includes a 7,000-square-foot guest home, pool, tennis court, five horse stables and a riding ring.
“Kathie Lee Gifford's Florida Mansion”
With her children now grown and upcoming retirement from the 'Today' show, Kathie Lee Gifford is selling her Key Largo, Florida vacation home on the water with eight bedrooms and eight baths, pool, spa, gym and excellent water views. Kathie bought the home in 1998 with husband Frank Gifford and often talked about its sunset views on the 'Today' show, also where the home was the location for a remote broadcast she did in 2013. The home is priced at $10.5 million.
“Paris Hilton's Hollywood House”
The house Paris Hilton called home during the filming of her reality television series, 'The Simple Life,' is a three-story, Spanish-style property overlooking Sunset Strip with four bedrooms, four baths, formal living and dining, a large eat-in kitchen, and a stripper pole in the basement. In 2018, the new owners put the home with Paris's original furniture on the market at $4.8 million. Still for sale, the price has been reduced to $4.195 million.
“President Obama's Summer Vacation Spot”
The Martha’s Vineyard home where Barack Obama and family spent their first three family summer vacations after Barack became president in 2009 sold in 2018 for $15 million. Blue Heron Farm in Chilmark, Massachusetts includes a 6,967-square-foot main house on 9.5 acres, six bedrooms, a two-bedroom guest house, boat dock, and three extra lots between the beach and the house. The 6,967-square-foot main house sits 120 feet above sea level and features six bedrooms and seven baths including a private master suite with its own den. The open floor plan includes pool, pond and ocean views from the chef’s kitchen, living room and dining room. The home was originally listed at $22.5 million before being reduced to $19.125 million and then sold.
“Rob Lowe's East Coast-Style California House”
Perhaps the nicest celebrity home currently on the market, Rob Lowe and his wife, Sheryl, listed their Montecito, California home in 2018 asking $47 million. Built in 2009, the 10,000-square-foot home on just over three acres includes 20 rooms, nine indoor fireplaces, indoor family kitchen and separate catering kitchen, eleven baths, eight bedrooms, library/music room with a bar, movie theater, office, family room, various conversation rooms and nooks, professional fitness center and a huge wine cellar. Outside are gardens, fountains, another kitchen, one-bedroom pool house with staff quarters, tennis court, pool, spa, staff quarters and beautiful views of the mountains and ocean.
