Cell Signaling Technology Named a Top Charitable Company in Massachusetts by the Boston Business Journal

DANVERS, Mass., Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Boston Business Journal (BBJ) named cell Signaling Technology (CST), a worldwide provider of antibodies, as a 2017 top corporate charitable contributor in Massachusetts. Announced at the 13th Annual Corporate Citizenship Awards on September 6th at Fenway Park in Boston, CST ranked 80th in Massachusetts among top charitable companies, with a total contribution of $325,000 to MA local charities. The 2018 BBJ awards recognized the top 100 companies who contributed more than $100,000 to Massachusetts's organizations in 2017.

CST has maintained a commitment to investing in community organizations in the North Shore area of Boston and beyond. CST gives back to our communities in a variety of ways: a robust volunteer program, corporate grants, and a small grants program that includes Education in Science Grants, Environmental Grants, and Community Grants. In addition, CST runs a large summer internship program and a Science Scholarship Program, which offered four $10,000 scholarships to high school students in selected Boston North Shore communities last year.

CST's philanthropic funding decisions, with financial support for projects ranging from $500-$8,000, are awarded twice a year and made primarily by employee-led committees. CST is proud to announce that the 2017 annual budgets for each of our small grant committees were raised to $70,000, which explains the leap in the amount of total philanthropic contributions over previous years. Grants awarded in 2017 funded a diverse range of local community projects including Pathways for Children, local Summer Literacy Programs, Seaside Sustainability, The Open Door, and RAW Arts, among others.
