Cellgate Announces New Control4 Integration with Their Watchman W460 & W461 Multi-Contact Telephone Entry Systems with Live Streaming Video
A Watchman W460 or W461 Integration Gives Smart Home Users the Ability to Control Their Gate from Their Control4 Monitors.
CARROLLTON, Texas, Sept. 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cellular access control products company, Cellgate, has announced their ability to integrate the company's Watchman W460 and W461 Multi-Contact telephone entry products with Control4's home automation system. Cellgate is announcing this key integration capability as they prepare to exhibit this week at the CEDIA Expo 2019 show in Denver, CO, September 12th-14th, 2019. CEDIA Expo 2019 features vendors from around the world that cater to the home technology and automation industries, and are a key market segment for Cellgate.
Cellgate has long been a leader in the cellular access control market, and is still the only company that provides live streaming video access control products over a cellular network. Since Cellgate's Watchman product family was first introduced in 2016, home automation and CCTV dealers have flocked to the product line, in part because homeowners are now demanding smart solutions for their entire property, and not just for inside their home. With Cellgate's new Control4 integration, dealers now have a fully integrated solution for homeowners that want centralized control of smart home systems, while incorporating the property's gate access control needs at the same time. By utilizing a Watchman W460 or W461 with Control4, a homeowner will also have full access to Cellgate's TrueCloud™ portal, allowing for easy customization and management of the gate access control system. This means homeowners can quickly set up new users, create access codes, set up hold-open schedules, customize notifications and review historical time, date and photos of access attempts, whenever they choose.
Control4 is a market leading home automation system that can aggregate many wireless smart home products like lights, blinds, entertainment systems, climate control, etc. so that they are accessible via a single controller. With Cellgate's announcement, the list of integratable systems now includes Cellgate's Watchman W460 and W461 multi-contact telephone entry systems with live streaming video.
Cellgate President Noel Gouldin is excited to present his company's new integration capabilities with Control4 at this week's CEDIA EXPO show. "We have worked with the home automation channel for several years, and our products have been very well received by them due to their rich functionality and exclusive features," said Gouldin. "Now with our new Control4 integration, this channel will have even more opportunities to utilize our products amongst their customers, and we cannot wait to be able to demonstrate how it all works this week at CEDIA."
The Watchman W460/W461 driver is free to Control4 users, and only requires a hard-wired internet connection to Cellgate's Watchman W460 or W461 hardware in order for the two systems to successfully integrate. The Control4 system can then control the homeowner's gate through APIs to Cellgate's servers.
Gouldin described the Watchman W460 and W461 integration with Control4 as follows:
- When a visitor presses the Watchman W460/W461 call button at the gate/entry point, the Control4 system inside the home will ring. Users can see live streaming video of the visitor on their Control4 keypad/monitor, then choose to answer and grant access.
- If the home owner does not answer, Cellgate's system takes over and begins calling users on the designated call tree set up by the homeowner.
- Because the Control4 system is connected to Cellgate's architecture via API, the homeowner can utilize all of the Cellgate product features from their Control4 device(s), including: opening the gate momentarily, holding open the gate for a period of time, closing the gate, taking pictures on demand at the gate and looking at past access attempt pictures and date/time data.
Gouldin also emphasized that the company's integration with Control4 is just the first of several more exciting announcements to come in the near future. "We are committed to long-term success in the smart home automation channel, and are already working on integrating additional Watchman products with other leading home automation systems, in addition to launching some incredible new products in the coming months," said Gouldin. This is an exciting time for the company and our customers."
