Center for Graduate Career Success Launches First-of-its-Kind Career Education Platform for Master's Students
After successfully growing Beyond the Professoriate, the Center's signature platform supporting career education for PhDs, the Center is now launching "Beyond Graduate School" for master's students.
DENVER, March 1, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Center for Graduate Career Success, the provider of digital professional development platforms such as "Beyond the Professoriate," announced today the release of a new career education platform for master's students called "Beyond Graduate School."
Beyond Graduate School is a first-of-its-kind career education platform and currently the only digital solution designed to support the unique needs of master's students. In its online platform, Beyond Grad School provides students with video lessons on everything from career exploration to writing applications, interviewing, and negotiating a job offer. The platform's unique curriculum is designed by learning specialists and experts in career development. Like all the Center's digital platforms, Beyond Grad School's programming is research driven and proven to support master's students in building new careers.
Master's students complete condensed programs (between 1-2 years) and are often balancing the competing demands of work and school. They have less time than undergraduates and PhDs to complete their studies and internships/practicums, and tend to be more focused on particular career paths. Yet,
- 50% lack foundational knowledge about job searching;
- 56% are uncertain about their career and futures;
- and 81% cannot identify their value to employers.
Master's students need career support and guidance so they can successfully leverage their education into meaningful careers after graduation. But with 3114 students (undergraduate and graduate) for every 1 professional development staff member, under-resourced career offices may overlook the specific needs of master's students due to budget constraints. Universities require digital, scalable, solutions to help prepare a growing and diverse graduate student population for career success and to provide equal access to career services across departments, divisions, and schools.
"We are excited to announce the release of Beyond Graduate School, an online platform that provides master's students with 24/7 support, information, and resources to help them build their careers. Beyond Graduate School is designed to complement Career Services and provide all students equitable access to the vital information they need as they graduate and head into the workforce." - L. Maren Wood, PhD, CEO and Director, Center for Graduate Career Success
Beyond Graduate School is currently available for institutional subscription. Demos will begin in late March, and information sessions are being held the first week of March. Register for an information session at: https://gradcareersuccess.com/information-session/
