INDIANAPOLIS, Sept. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Liz and the REALTOR Foundation, founded by the MIBOR REALTOR Association, the professional association representing central Indiana's REALTORS®, are passionate about working with Family Promise to ensure every child and family in need has a home. The mission of Family Promise, which has been featured on the Today Show, is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence and have a roof over their heads. Family Promise has provided shelter, meals, case management, homelessness prevention and stabilization services to nearly 1 million family members.
"Approximately 12,000 people in central Indiana experience homelessness at some point each year," said Liz. "The mission of the REALTOR® Foundation is to mobilize the real estate community to raise funds and foster support for organizations that transition central Indiana's homeless into safe and secure housing, such as Family Promise."
Members of the REALTOR® Foundation, such as Liz, believe that everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home. Donations to the foundation support housing programs for victims of domestic violence, homeless families, veterans, homeless youth, and other vulnerable neighbors.
Since its inception, the REALTOR® Foundation has awarded grants that have helped central Indiana strengthen its communities. It has provided more than $2 million to regional nonprofits. Donations can help save lives; for example, just $30 can provide one night of shelter for a mother and child; and $50 can provide an advocate to help a domestic violence victim establish a plan for independence from an abuser.
