CerPrint Releases Ceramic Decal Printer with Interchangeable Blue and Black Options
Studio potters and students can now purchase one affordable ceramic decal printer that produces both True Black and True Blue decal images. The CerPrint 3710 can also produce high resolution grayscale and lighter blue images from an artist's own digital art or purchased artwork.
TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 28, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Studio potters and students can now purchase one affordable ceramic decal printer that produces both True Black and True Blue decal images, according to Rob Hullar, CerPrint inventor and president of Rosetta Technologies.
"Ceramic artists can also produce high resolution grayscale and lighter blue images from their own digital art or purchased artwork using different settings and temperatures," he said. 3710 owners simply switch a CerPrint True Black toner for a True Blue cartridge and print their decal.
"I'm a former potter. I realized the ceramic decal printers on the market were priced way beyond the means of studio potters, students and schools. The chemist and engineer in me decided I could use my experience with high iron MICR toners and laser printers to invent ceramic decal printers that are compact and affordable," he said. "It's been a journey—especially finding the best decal papers and processes that work well with ceramic, glass and enamel."
CerPrint also offers a 330 ceramic decal printer that produces Real Red High Oxide decals. "It's a lower price point than the 3710 and produces a richer red decal than any other iron oxide toners and printers on the market today," Hullar says. "CerPrint 330 uses a lamination process along with fluxed and non-fluxed decal papers to create artistic ceramics. Results are lead-free and dishwasher-safe with a glass-like finish after firing in a kiln at 1200 to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit."
Inventing CerPrint's ceramic decal toners and printers has been a passion project for Hullar. His 9 to 5 job as president of Rosetta Technologies is producing some of the world's best payment solutions as a Ricoh partner including MICR toners and printers and software.
'What I love most is talking with truly skilled ceramic, enamel and glass artists. They are producing really beautiful work using CerPrint ceramic decal printers. They're sending us photos of work and we're sharing it on our website Artists' Gallery. We hope the photos inspire other artists," he said.
Hullar invites artists to test CerPrint decals by emailing a high resolution image through the website. He'll mail them a decal to test on their own pieces. "Of course, I hope they'll buy a printer! I also hope they upload a photo of the work they produced we can share. That sense of community is what I loved most during my studio pottery days," he said.
