HOUSTON, June 2, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- With 30+ million Americans unemployed, food banks are seeing an extreme spike in demand. Restaurants acoss the country have responded by taking part in a national effort called Takeout for Good.
Over 1500 local restaurants will partake in a nationwide Takeout Tuesday today, June 2nd, donating 15%-50% of takeout sales to local food banks.
Restaurants like Manousheh in New York City are excited to give back, explaining, "We are very proud to be a part of Takeout Tuesday this June 2 as we will be giving back 15% of sales to the Food Bank For New York City. We feel it is necessary for the community to act like one right now, more than ever, so that we can support each other to get back on our feet and come out of this pandemic stronger than we went into it."
The Takeout for Good initiative is organized by restaurant community engagement platform GroupRaise.
