Charles Gilmore Appointed Head Winemaker at CK Mondavi
Napa, CA (PRWEB) September 07, 2016 -- CK Mondavi is pleased to announce that Charles Gilmore has been appointed head winemaker. Gilmore comes to CK Mondavi from Fetzer Vineyards where he served as winemaker for the past twelve years. He is replacing longtime head winemaker, John Moynier, who has worked at CK Mondavi for more than 30 years and will work alongside Gilmore before retiring later this year.

As the newest winemaker in the seven-decade history of CK Mondavi, Gilmore brings insight and expertise on a wide range of grape varieties, styles and price-points. Gilmore also brings extensive experience in sourcing fruit from diverse areas of California, ranging from Mendocino and Lake Counties, to the Central Coast and throughout the Central Valley.
Gilmore has seventeen years of winery experience. Most recently he served as senior winemaker at Fetzer Vineyards. Prior to Fetzer, he spent time with St. Hallett’s & Tattachilla in the Barossa Valley of Australia, as well as working with a consulting winemaker in Southern France. He also served as a laboratory intern and assistant at several wineries including Gundlach Bundschu, Rosenblum Cellars, Cakebread Cellars, and Artesa Vineyards and Winery. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Viticulture and Enology from the University of California, Davis.
