“The best way to reach anyone these days is through the device in everyone’s hands at any given moment, and that’s their phone. We are thrilled to help CAT begin this phase of their communication project.”
SAVANNAH, Ga. (PRWEB) January 13, 2021
Provider of public transportation in the Savannah, Georgia metropolitan area, Chatham Area Transit (CAT) has launched a new text notification service on an SMS platform developed by TextMarks.
The service will initially provide customers with notifications of major service alerts, such as service disruptions of one day or longer, and include schedule adjustments, bus stop closures and route changes.
Those who want to sign up for the service can text RIDECAT to 41411, while subscribers may also sign up to be notified of upcoming public meetings and events.
According to TextMarks CEO Dan Kamins, “forward-thinking” transit authorities like CAT are increasingly turning to SMS platforms to better engage and inform their customers.
“The best way to reach anyone these days is through the device in everyone’s hands at any given moment, and that’s their phone,” he said. “We are thrilled to help CAT begin this phase of their communication project.”
CAT is also in the process of having a new Intelligent Transportation System installed throughout its computer networks, facilities and vehicles over the course of the next year.
