Cheer Pack N.A.'s Stand-Up Pouches Create Between 75 and 93 Percent Less Greenhouse Gas Emissions Compared to Other Packaging Types
WEST BRIDGEWATER, Mass., Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Cheer Pack North America is committed to decreasing its carbon footprint by making eco-friendly sustainable flexible packaging that is produced and distributed using environmentally-conscious methods. The company's commitment to sustainability is driven by many principles, including the fact that Cheer Pack N.A.'s stand-up pouches for food and non-food flexible packaging create between 75 and 93 percent less greenhouse gas emissions compared to other packaging types.1

At Cheer Pack N.A.'s manufacturing facility in West Bridgewater, MA, the company uses energy that is produced by more than 144,000 square feet of solar panels that generate 2.4 million Kilowatt hours of electricity per year. These solar panels deliver more than 30 percent of the company's annual electrical needs while simultaneously eliminating 1,655 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Additionally, the company's automated lighting system saves over 225,000 Kilowatt hours of electricity and eliminates 159 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. Overall, the amount of carbon dioxide that is eliminated by these practices equates to removing over 1,900 cars from the road per year.
