Chef Tony Gargano’s Osteria Bigolaro in Geneva, Illinois to Participate in Baconfest Chicago 2019
GENEVA, Ill. (PRWEB) March 06, 2019 -- Tony Gargano, chef and owner of trendy Osteria Bigolaro in Geneva, Illinois, is pleased to announce his restaurant will be participating in Baconfest Chicago on Saturday, April 6, 2019, from 11:00 – 3:00 pm. The event, which is eleven years strong, partners with over 140 of the Chicago area’s hottest chefs, mixologists, brewers, artisan bacon-makers & “bacontrepreneurs” - who prepare small samples of food and drinks all made with the same main ingredient: bacon.
Baconfest Chicago, a nationally renowned, locally beloved festival, attracts thousands of bacon lovers who relish in sampling hundreds of bacon dishes and drinks over the course of two days. Osteria Bigolaro which specializes in authentic, Italian fare, will feature “Baby Got Carb” their creative spin on Carbonara, that will include a parmesan cheese mousse, sous-vide egg yolk and fried, fresh pasta.
“I’m pleased that Osteria Bigolaro has been selected to participate in Baconfest Chicago this year,” said chef/owner, Tony Gargano. “My goal in opening the restaurant a year and a half ago was to offer diners in the Geneva, Illinois and surrounding areas, a five-star Italian dining experience like you’d find in Chicago or Italy, but in a casual setting. At Baconfest we’ll be able to share samples of our unique take on Italian food that will inspire foodies in the city and the burbs to come dine with us.”
Baconfest cofounder, Seth Zurer, commented, “We partner with some of the finest restaurants in the Chicago and surrounding areas, and have a lot of new restaurants participating at Baconfest Chicago this year. Osteria Bigolaro is one of the new restaurants we selected because they are a perfect fit. Chef Tony and his team are receiving rave reviews and it’s great that they can leverage the event to raise awareness of their hidden gem in Geneva.”
Baconfest Chicago will be held April 5 & 6th at the UIC Dorin Forum, 725 West Roosevelt Rd., Chicago. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at baconfestchicago.com/ticket
About Osteria Bigolaro:
Osterias found throughout Italy, are casual and inexpensive restaurants that traditionally serve wine and simple food. Today, there is more emphasis on the food, many offering several homemade dishes on the menu. A “bigolaro” is a vintage pasta extruder found in Northern Italy. Osteria Bigolaro is the vision of chef Tony Gargano who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu and studied under artisan dough makers in Italy. The restaurant serves authentic, Italian food identical to dishes in Italy, with handmade pasta, bread, and a sommelier-designed wine list.
