Our members and community will be well served with our new leadership. Both incoming leaders have an outstanding record of community and professional success.

During the annual Chester County Bar Association Members Meeting, members unanimously voted to install John Fiorillo as the Chester County Bar Association (CCBA) President and Sam Cortes as the Chester County Bar Foundation (CCBF) President effective January 2021.

John Fiorillo is a partner at Unruh Turner Burke & Frees and is the first member of the long-time Chester County-based firm to serve as CCBA President. “I am honored to have earned my peers’ confidence and trust that I am the person to lead the CCBA during these unprecedented times,” said John. John has been a member of the CCBA for over 25 years and has served on numerous committees, most recently as Vice President. John said, “Once it is safe to do so, I look forward to serving and engaging, in person, our terrific membership and the great community we serve.”

Sam Cortes is a partner at Fox Rothschild and served as the 2020 CCBA President, helping to steer the CCBA to a successful year notwithstanding the difficult and unique challenges we faced in 2020. “I am eager to get to work as CCBF President.” Last year, the Chester County Bar Foundation proudly awarded over $150,000 in grants to more than 20 worthy local nonprofit organizations. Sam continued, “The Foundation has a rich history of positively impacting and making a difference in our community, and I am excited to continue this important work this year.”

CCBA Executive Director Matt Holliday stated, “Our members and community will be well served with our new leadership. Both incoming leaders have an outstanding record of community and professional success. I look forward to working with them as we further our mission to help Chester County residents understand and gain access to our legal system.”

Despite being closed to the public, the Chester County Bar Association staff continues to operate and provide timely assistance to both members and the Chester County community.
