Chicago Law Firm MPS Law Adds Attorneys Kevin Purtill and Max Guggenheim

Kevin Purtill arrives as a partner specializing in commercial litigation, creditors' rights and restructuring, banking and finance law. Max Guggenheim is an associate whose practice areas include commercial real estate, real estate construction and finance, commercial leasing, and corporate law.

Purtill brings a well-rounded practice built over the past decade with another prominent mid-sized Chicago law firm, where he served as a partner. He is primarily focused on banking, corporate transactions, and business law, with particular emphasis on workouts, Uniform Commercial Code matters, creditors' rights litigation, and bankruptcy. He also represents lenders and corporate clients on contract negotiations, purchase and lease agreements, and loan and collateral documents, and also advises real estate lenders and investors on a wide range of issues.

Kevin rounds out the firm's already-strong commercial litigation team, and strengthens the firm's depth and commitment representing financial institutions on both internal litigation matters and in effectively realizing upon collateral security.

Guggenheim focuses his practice on all aspects of transactional real estate law. He handles purchase agreements for both buyers and sellers, commercial leases for tenants and landlords alike, and is also well-versed in the complexities of construction law.

His expertise is bolstered by a business background that includes successful stints with one of the largest commercial property managers in Illinois as well as a major Midwestern developer focused on shopping center and retail development in the Chicagoland and Milwaukee markets. His legal experience is similarly impressive, including a three-year clerkship with a Tier 1 construction law firm in Chicago and practice as an associate with a nationally respected real estate boutique in downtown Chicago.
