Corey Hinson & Associates Insurance & Financial Group, a full service firm in Rock Hill that provides insurance and financial preparation assistance to families in North and South Carolina, is leading a regional charity effort to provide for children in the area struggling with food insecurity and associated learning disabilities.

The Blessings in a Backpack program provides food insecure and underprivileged children with backpacks full of nutritious food. Currently, the Blessings in a Backpack program serves more than 90,000 schoolchildren in 1,000 schools across the country, and one of those schools is Huntingtowne Farms Elementary located in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“More than 16 million children in the US are at risk of hunger, and our goal in helping to support the Blessings in a Backpack program is to ensure all children in Charlotte are well fed and ready to make the most of their educational opportunities,” says Corey Hinson, executive manager and owner of Corey Hinson & Associates.

With the help of his professional staff, Hinson is forging connections with local civic leaders, educators, and policy makers in an effort to galvanize public support for the Blessings in a Backpack program.
