Chris White and Dawn Santos Join Certrec's Office of NERC Compliance Team
FORT WORTH, Texas (PRWEB) July 01, 2019 -- Certrec, a leading licensing and regulatory compliance service provider that supports NRC and NERC compliance, announced today that its Office of NERC Compliance team has expanded with the addition of Chris White as a Project Manager and Dawn Santos as a Senior Engineer.
Chris White brings to Certrec more than 15 years of nuclear power generation experience. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Mr. White served on nuclear-powered surface ships as a nuclear power plant operator and maintainer. Since leaving the military, Mr. White worked in nuclear plant operations at both River Bend and Brunswick stations in roles up to and including control room supervisor. In addition to his experience in control room supervision, Mr. White is experienced in the direction of power plant operations, mechanical systems maintenance, and command and control strategies and methods.
“Chris brings current power plant operational experience to the ONC services group and a well-rounded set of skills that will relate well to our clients’ needs,” said Office of NERC Compliance Service Director Bob Biggs. “He will be responsible for supervising and developing project plans, drafting policies and procedures, and conducting client project scope review and status summaries as a project manager.” Mr. White commented, “I am very excited about becoming a part of the Certrec team and helping to continue the company’s growth. I look forward to using my expertise to help our clients achieve and maintain excellent regulatory performance.”
Dawn Santos has more than 10 years of experience in power plant engineering, including work on a variety of electrical engineering projects and modification installations. Her previous work in developing electrical engineering modifications and managing installations within nuclear power plants relates directly to NERC O&P support services, providing additional diversity of perspective to Certrec’s knowledge base.
“Dawn’s in-field, practical work in the installation and configuration of physical security controls supporting access control and intrusion detection are very important to a critical infrastructure protection (CIP) program,” explained Bob Biggs. “Her skills add greater depth to Certrec’s O&P and CIP services group.”
As Senior Engineer at Certrec, Santos will reinforce the ONC group by applying engineering principles to assigned projects and tasks related to NERC Standard compliance. “I am interested in seeing how all my previous work fits into the bigger picture of providing reliable power through the bulk electric system,” commented Santos. “After spending the last several years working at the plant level, I am looking forward to expanding my horizons with Certrec.”
