Christie Q Series at 7th Summit of the Americas
Cypress, California (PRWEB) July 09, 2015 -- Christie Q Series projectors played a prominent role at the 7th Summit of the Americas in Panama, held in the spring, 2015. The audiovisual events company Meeting & Show Technologies used four Christie DHD951-Q projectors to create a projection mapping display at the summit’s opening ceremony, held in the Anayansi Theater, an auditorium with a seating capacity of 2,800 at the Atlapa Convention Center, the main venue of the summit located in the heart of Panama City.
The organizers of the summit contacted Meeting & Show – a Panamanian company with over 15 years’ experience in supplying and handling equipment for all kinds of events – to look after the technological services for the opening ceremony, attended by 35 heads of state and government.
The basic remit for the projection was to create a mapping on the sides of the main stage with the purpose of providing the stage design with an element of motion but without distracting from the protocol of the opening ceremony of the summit.
The client was looking for projectors that would guarantee optimum definition, so Meeting & Show immediately thought of Christie’s Q Series. “They are ultra-reliable projectors that ensure the kind of top-notch performance you’re looking for when organizing such an important event as this,” said Rafael de la Fuente, marketing manager at Meeting & Show.
He went on to add, “We especially liked the fact that they are such compact projectors and are so simple to handle. Another plus in their favor is the multi-voltage capacity and the keystone function that affords quick and easy alignment of the image and also the potential to store data, which makes using it that much easier.”
Christie Q Series are 1DLP® projectors that can be used either in single or dual lamp mode, with a level of brightness that ranges from 7200 to 10,000 lumens ANSI and with XGA, WXGA, HD and WUXGA resolutions.
The four suspended Christie DHD951-Q projectors (HD resolution, 8200 lumens ANSI), powered data, abstract elements and lighting effects onto the wall and screens on the side of the stage.
The warping and blending feature allowed Meeting & Show to adjust the projection with pinpoint accuracy on the irregular surface. “It’s an absolutely critical function for mapping projections on spherical or curved surfaces, or when you want to align multiple projectors, because it ensures precise projection from different angles and means that it fits in with displays of virtually all sizes and configurations, with a highly precise pixel by pixel alignment,” explained Rafael de la Fuente.
Millumin playback software, specialized in synchronization of live events, was used to manage the contents. The resolution was 1920 x 1080 and the aspect ratio 16:9.
During the 90-minute projection, the Christie DHD951-Q performed to perfection, matching the effects created with other elements like lighting. “Our client was delighted with the results and we reaffirmed our opinion that Christie is synonymous with quality, power and reliability when it comes to projecting images at events of this significance,” concluded Rafael de la Fuente from Meeting & Show.
Jorge García, Christie Sales Manager in Latin America, confirmed: “We are proud that Meeting & Show used our projectors at such an internationally important event as the Summit of the Americas. Christie offers a complete catalogue of 1DLP solutions that covers all presentation needs with a wide range of functions and options for all pockets.”
