GENEVA, Ill. (PRWEB) April 18, 2019
Christie Technology Corporation is proud to announce that they received the 2019 MLB Jackie Robinson Most Valuable Diverse Business Partner (MVDBP) Award. “In recognition of the extraordinary contributions of Jackie Robinson,” says Corey Smith, Procurement and Diversity & Inclusion, “[MLB] thinks it is most befitting on April 15th, the anniversary of Jackie breaking the color barrier in Major League Baseball, to recognize Diverse Business Partners they believe reflect the character and commitment to excellence of Jackie Robinson.”
MLB has long recognized the importance of diversity. The Diverse Business Partner (DBP) program began in 1988 when Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig authorized its creation. DBP focuses on cultivating new and nurturing existing partnerships with minority-owned and women-owned businesses by increasing opportunities for both groups to participate in MLB procurement activities.
Christie Technology thanks Major League Baseball for the recognition and thanks to those at MLB and MLB Network who nominated us and supported our nomination. And, as always, thanks to our extended team for their quality work and contribution.
