Christina Schultz Named CEO of Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation
Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) April 29, 2016 -- Christina Schultz has been named Chief Executive Officer of the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation. The selection was made following a national search, interviews with several stakeholder groups, and consultation with the Foundation Board. Prior to her selection, Ms. Schultz served for nine years as the leader of institutional advancement and development at Dixie State University, St. George, UT. In that role, she was responsible for leading several significant areas including fundraising, alumni relations, public relations, community outreach, marketing and cultural arts initiatives. She was the university’s first female and longest serving Vice President.
Announcement of the appointment was made by Russ Johnson, Chairman of the Foundation Board, and Dr. Maria Harper-Marinick, Interim Chancellor of the Maricopa Community Colleges. “I am delighted to announce the hiring of Christina Schultz,” Dr. Harper-Marinick said. “She brings an impressive combination of skills and experience that will help our Foundation reach new heights.”
Ms. Schultz, who joined the Foundation April 18, has extensive experience in higher education leadership positions. During her time at Dixie State, Ms. Schultz achieved a number of impressive accomplishments including the launch of a $100M infrastructure fundraising campaign, development of two self-sustaining 501(c)(3) programs, securing a $1M federal grant for the University’s southwest Regional Computer Crime Institute, and securing additional funding for numerous other programs and departments.
Prior to her work with Dixie State University, she served as Director of Development at the Southern California Institute of Architecture, The Richard and Karen Carpenter Performing Arts Center at California State University, and the University of Southern California. In each of these roles she established comprehensive fundraising programs and developed the infrastructure and strategic initiatives to support them.
Ms. Schultz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a specialization in marketing from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts degree in Communications Management from the same university.
The Maricopa Community College system includes 10 colleges – Chandler-Gilbert, Estrella Mountain, GateWay, Glendale, Mesa, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Rio Salado, Scottsdale and South Mountain. It also includes the Maricopa Skill Center, Southwest Skill Center, Maricopa Corporate College and several satellite campuses and business/industry, technical and customized training institutes.
