Cincinnati's Laurie and Joe Sanfillipo III Recognized as Pet Wants Franchisee of the Year

CINCINNATI, March 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Pet Wants is pleased to announce that Laurie and Joe Sanfillipo III, the local owners of Pet Wants Cincy West, have been named the 2018 Pet Wants Franchisee of the Year. The award was presented at the company's national conference on February 19, 2019.

When Joe's parents saw similar results with their Irish Wheaton Terrier, Abby, the Sanfillipos decided they wanted to franchise with Pet Wants. Business was so strong that, within a year, they found the perfect storefront on Shady Lane and decided to open a retail location.

"After several months of working to create a beautiful retail store, we opened in late January of 2018. The environment we have created is a warm, friendly and safe place to shop for your pet. Our customers know that they are getting healthy and quality products and can feel at ease while they are shopping. However, we used to joke that our girl Meadow was why people came in. Everyone wanted to come love on her and she developed quite the fan club. When we had to say goodbye to her last November, I truly believe our customers grieved with us. We have since added a Yellow Lab puppy named Harmony who is also getting much love and her own fan club following. I also think it's important to recognize our great staff – we act like a family and we all treat our customers as part of that family too, Laurie said.

The Sanfillipos are long-time business owners and the family owns USA Collison Centers, which has serviced the West Side of Cincinnati and been a strong supporter of the surrounding communities for more than 40 years. Laurie and Joe are active supporters of two non-profits that hold a special place in their hearts, SPCA Cincinnati and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Joe III is a board member for the SPCA Cincinnati and also has recently termed out as a board member as well as an Executive Committee member for the Tri-State Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
