Ciphertex Data Security Debuts High Performance EX-NAS Servers
Chatsworth, California (PRWEB) April 03, 2015 -- Ciphertex Data Security announced today the launch of its new lineup of scalable high-performance NAS Servers, the EX-NAS series. The new products are portable, rugged, and secure storage solutions to meet the needs of data security professionals featuring automatic hardware-accelerated AES 256-bit encryption and dual 10GbE network connections. The CX-4KEX-NAS, CX-6KEX-NAS and CX-10KEX-NAS are available in 4, 6 and 10-bay models.
The exciting new EX-NAS servers are powered by Intel® Core i3, Core i5, and Xeon E3 processors to speed up CPU-intensive tasks such as encryption, data transfer, 4K/2K video playback, and transcoding. The EX-NAS servers will also support up to 32GB of RAM (in the 10KEX), a new hardware design based on SATA III 12 Gb/s architecture, and incorporate 256GB mSATA cache modules to improve performance for iSCSI virtualization applications, cross-platform file sharing, and faster backups.
The CX-10KEX-NAS has a powerful Intel® Xeon® E3-1245 3.4GHz quad-core processor that delivers 2,000+ MB/s and 223,000+ IOPS. The unit can be configured with 4 SSDs as extended cache to accelerate I/O performance. With the dual-port 10GbE option, the CX-10KEX-NAS is a top performer as a VMWare/Citrix/Microsoft virtual storage device, a multi-camera recorder, or a networked encrypted backup system.
The CX-6KEX-NAS comes either with Intel® Core i3-4150 3.5GHz dual-core or Core i5-4590S 3.0GHz quad-core processors. The Core i3 version comes with 4GB DDR3 RAM installed, while the Core i5 option includes 8GB DDR3 RAM. Each can be upgraded to 16GB total RAM. The CX-4KEX-NAS has an Intel® i3-4150 3.5GHz dual-core processor and includes 4GB DDR3 RAM.
The EX-NAS Servers all support the HGST Ultrastar He line of helium-filled hard drives for the highest capacity in a portable, rugged unit. For example, using He8 8TB HDDs, the CX-10KEX-NAS holds 80TB of encrypted, secure storage. Ciphertex has also partnered with Micron to support their new M500DC SSD drives. Micron’s Extended Performance and Enhanced Reliability (XPERT) technology helps ensure data integrity, extend drive life, and optimize performance for data-intense applications.
The Ciphertex EX-NAS series include over 60 software applications including RTRR (Real Time Remote Recording), RSync, LDAP and Windows AD directory support, accelerated file transfer, AWS cloud connections, and much more.
