City of Albany Launches Goodsnitch to Engage with Residents and Encourage Excellence
Albany, OR (PRWEB) April 14, 2014 -- The City of Albany, Oregon today announced its partnership with Goodsnitch, an innovative mobile technology that allows residents to provide real-time feedback about the city services they receive. Albany is the first U.S. city to implement Goodsnitch.
“Goodsnitch is a simple tool that people can use to provide valuable, constructive comments on services provided by local government,” said City Manager Wes Hare. “We like the whole concept and are proud to be a partner.”
Goodsnitch aims to establish real-time positive and constructive feedback into the consumer and company relationship. It focuses on publicly highlighting the good work of others and privately communicating the constructive criticism to be addressed. Albany residents and staff can provide feedback through the free Goodsnitch app or during events such as River Rhythms or the Northwest Art & Air Festival through on-site tablets. Residents can comment on city functions including Parks and Recreation events, the City Manager’s office, Library services, the Fire Department, Community Development, Utility Billing, Information Technology, and Human Resources.
Goodsnitch especially encourages users to recognize “everyday heroes” – city employees, community residents, and volunteers who provide great service. City staff can view and respond to feedback in real time, acknowledge those who are recognized, and improve as needed.
Residents can also use Goodsnitch at local businesses and organizations and some are already using it.
“There is a virtuous cycle initiated when a citizen feels empowered and heard,” commented Rob Pace, Goodsnitch’s founder. “When that customer engagement highlights the impact of a particular person’s service such as a great volunteer, the significance increases exponentially. It’s impressive to see a city like Albany so focused on customer engagement.”
