Leading global marketing research solutions provider Civicom is hosting a webinar to discuss the recent landmark ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) that has invalidated the EU-US Privacy Shield. The webinar will be held on August 11th and August 12th.

The Privacy Shield framework, necessitated by the earlier invalidated Safe Harbor provision, was established to provide companies from the European Union, Switzerland and the United States with a mechanism to comply with data protection requirements for transatlantic data flows. However, the recent decision revokes the Privacy Shield between the US and the EU due to the determination by the CJEU that the US lacks adequate data protection sufficient to comply with the GDPR; in some areas this lack is in direct conflict with EU data protection laws.

As a solutions provider that caters to clients globally, Civicom remains at the forefront of regulatory developments and maintains strict compliance to data protection requirements across borders.

The webinar will tackle how the invalidation of the Privacy Shield challenges existing data transfer practices in the market research industry and shares information on the alternative data transfer mechanisms that can be explored to effectively navigate the intricacies of compliance.

Civicom’s webinar “The End of Privacy Shield: What are Market Researchers to Do Next?” will be presented by Jennifer Morehead, Managing Security & Compliance Officer of Civicom, Inc., and Rebecca West, Global President of the Civicom Marketing Research Services Group, at the following dates and times:

Tuesday, August 11, 2020 @ 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm UK
Wednesday, August 12, 2020 @ 9pm ET
Thursday, August 13 @ 9am SGT
