LOS ANGELES, Sept. 4, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Claire's Place Foundation, a non-profit organization providing support to children and families affected by cystic fibrosis (CF), is proud to announce their fifth annual "Glow Ride for Cystic Fibrosis."
On Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 5:30 p.m., the short 3.4 mile ride will make a big scene on the California Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach Piers; and make an even bigger impact on families with cystic fibrosis struggling to make ends meet while dealing with extended hospital stays. For the first time, we are opening up the event to include virtual riders, asking communities across the globe to celebrate and fundraise in their own neighborhoods, on their own decorated bikes.
The 5th Annual Glow Ride welcomes NorthStar Moving Company, Hermosa Cyclery, Bluewater Grill Redondo Beach, Western Truck Insurance Services, New Haven Moving Equipment and Manhattan Dermatology as this year's event sponsors. The Glow Ride raises funds specifically to support the Claire's Place Foundation Extended Hospital Stay Grant Program. This program funds the essential living expenses for individuals and families living with CF during extended hospital stays.
"My daughter Claire was very clear that her one wish was for us to carry on the mission of her foundation," said Claire's Place Foundation Executive Director Melissa Yeager. "Since her passing a year ago, we have been working hard to do just that. Each year, the number of requests from young cystic fibrosis patients and their parents, desperately seeking assistance with their bills, increases. The foundation simply does not have enough funds to support all of the requests. Our Glow Ride event is vital to raising funds to help these families. Claire would be absolutely thrilled to know that we continue to get our glow on!"
Glow Ride tickets are $40 and include glow in the dark goodies needed to decorate bikes, skateboards, etc., as well as a custom glow in the dark event t-shirt. Hermosa Cyclery will provide free rental bikes to Glow Ride participants. All details can be found here.
