As the film CLAIRE celebrates one year of impacting millions of lives across the globe, the prestigious honor recognizes Directors Ryan Azevedo and Oscar-winning filmmaker Nick Reed and Producer Paul Foley's exceptional craft and creativity in telling the story of Claire's Place Foundation Founder Claire Wineland and their outstanding talent in documentary filmmaking. The Global Film Awards (GFA) have been honoring filmmakers for more than 14 years, awarding filmmakers with exceptional talent including Oscar, Emmy and BAFTA winners. Their international IMPACT DOCS Awards recognize courageous filmmakers who produce standout entertainment and contribute to profound social change.

The documentary explores how Claire has inspired millions to find purpose and to live proudly. At 21 years old Claire had over 35 surgeries and spent thousands of hours in the hospital, but her fight with CF is not what defined her. Claire was an activist, speaker, philanthropist and author. She committed her life to traveling the world and speaking about her experience, from the beautiful and humorous, to the painful parts of her life. She continues to inspire all who follow her journey and she breaks down barriers for those who live every day with a chronic illness. A successful life is about creating a winning mindset, this film shows you how to do the same.

In one year the documentary CLAIRE has over ten million views across Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Most importantly, the film has helped raise needed funds. Since the film's release, Claire's Place Foundation has given over $206,000 in grants to over 150 families, keeping Claire's legacy alive, assisting families in need living with CF. The grants have enabled these families to pay their mortgage, rent, medical bills and other essential living expenses.
