ClassRanked: College Class Registration Site Expands to University of California Berkeley and Announces Future Growth Strategy at Other Universities
ClassRanked.com, a growing college registration tool, launches its site at Cal Berkeley and announces future expansion plans to help students streamline the course selection process and address a major student need.
DURHAM, N.C., Aug. 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ClassRanked (https://www.classranked.com) has officially expanded its site and services to all undergraduate students at the University of California Berkeley.
The launch took place at 10 a.m. PST on Saturday to a crowd in Sproul Plaza on UC Berkeley's campus. The goal of the site is to ensure that students have easily accessible information to create the best possible schedule.
Classes on the platform are sorted by department and distribution requirement. A student trying to find the easiest Quantitative Studies class or the most interesting English course can do so with two clicks. Every undergraduate class on ClassRanked has ratings for both quality and difficulty, as well as comments from students who have taken the class. Reviewers are not required to provide their full names, helping to ensure honest feedback. The site also features a recommendation function which provides students with tailored course suggestions.
ClassRanked decided to expand to Berkeley's 30,000 undergraduate population after widespread support following its launch at Duke University. Within a week of the website's inception, it had generated nearly 25,000 page views and gained several hundred followers on social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter. In July alone, traditionally an off-season month for course registration, nearly 2,200 users visited the site - over a third of the Duke undergraduate student body.
"We have transformed college class registration at Duke and believe that Berkeley is the perfect fit to expand our platform. Our team feels strongly that our site will help thousands of Cal students save hours on registration," said CEO Hayden Hall.
In addition to UC Berkeley, ClassRanked will launch at the University of Pennsylvania by the end of the August, at Washington University in St. Louis and Emory by mid-September and the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill by the beginning of October -- in time for spring course registration. The size of these schools, as well as the depth and breadth of course offerings, means that there is sufficient student demand for a service that can streamline course selection.
