ANNAPOLIS, Md. (PRWEB) November 05, 2019
ClearHealth Quality Institute™ (CHQI), an independent health care accrediting body, today released draft standards for the country’s first accreditation program designed specifically for Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) programs.
When finalized, CHQI’s RPM Accreditation Program will offer a set of comprehensive standards to define and assess RPM programs in key areas including operations, professional oversight, clinical workflow, quality procedures, technology requirements, and risk management. The CHQI RPM Accreditation Program is scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2020.
The public comment period, beginning on November 5, 2019 and closing on December 6, 2019, will allow interested parties to provide feedback on the draft RPM Accreditation Program Standards before they are finalized. Feedback received during the public comment period will be carefully reviewed to help CHQI further refine the standards. To request a copy of the draft standards, email email@example.com.
“The CHQI RPM Workgroup, which includes a wide range of key industry stakeholders, has produced a comprehensive standards document that reflects diverse viewpoints,” said Rene Quashie, Esq., Vice President, Policy & Regulatory Affairs, Digital Health at the Consumer Technology Association & Chair of CHQI’s RPM Workgroup. “Public comment is an important step in the standards development process, and we look forward to feedback.”
“RPM is changing the way healthcare is delivered – effective and quality monitoring can lead to a much improved patient quality of life,” said Michael Gomes, CEO, CHQI. “Given RPM’s ability to make an extraordinary impact on healthcare, as well as its rapid growth and adoption, developing RPM accreditation standards in this area was a critical step toward protecting patients.”
