Edison Healthcare Adds Cleveland Clinic to its Smart Care Program to Provide Employers with Solutions to Address Rising Healthcare Costs

Edison Healthcare strives to combine convenience and quality assistance that patients can trust through our Smart Care Medical Centers around the world.

Smart Care Starts Here

We have partners who are spread across the country, so geographically we identified Smart Care Medical Centers that can provide outstanding care, said Tom Emerick, President and Co-Founder of Edison Healthcare.

The cost of medical care continues to rise across the country and Edison Healthcare is helping self-insured employers overcome this obstacle. Edison Healthcare provides access for its employer partners by providing their employees with the best Smart Care Medical facilities across the country. And for heart care, many of the employees they work with will now be headed to Cleveland Clinic, offering access to complex cardiac surgery at Cleveland Clinic’s Heart & Vascular Institute.

For 24 consecutive years, U.S. News & World Report has ranked Cleveland Clinic’s heart program No. 1 in the nation for cardiovascular care.

Employees and their dependents who are part of the Edison Healthcare program will now be able to have consultations and heart care at Cleveland Clinic with no out-of-pocket cost. Edison Healthcare also covers the cost for travel, lodging, and food for the patient and their caregiver. Programs like Edison Healthcare bring employers and leading hospitals together to help keep costs down through better outcomes and bundled pricing – a single payment that covers a patient’s specific treatment– while giving employees greater access to the best possible care.

“We have partners who are spread across the country, so geographically we identified Smart Care Medical Centers that can provide outstanding care,” said Tom Emerick, President and Co-Founder of Edison Healthcare.

Cleveland Clinic will review each patient's medical records, create a customized care plan, provide education to the patient and caregiver on treatment, manage the patient's transition home, and work alongside the patient's local physician.

“Cleveland Clinic is passionate about working with companies, like Edison Healthcare, to develop innovative solutions that provide employees high-quality healthcare while also managing costs,” said Dr. Lars Svensson, M.D., Ph.D., chairman of Cleveland Clinic’s Sydell and Arnold Miller Heart & Vascular Institute.
