Maurice Vitty, author of Close to the Wind and Close to the Edge was converted to Christ at the age of 23 and served with Operation Mobilisation on their ships. Deeply affected by the plight of the Vietnamese people, he bought his own ship ‘MV Redeemer,’ which operated for 10 years. Since then he has dedicated his life to evangelism and anything he can do to help people on the sea. He is part of Ichthus Christian Fellowship and has pastored a Church in south-east London.
